It is ideal for use in tribological systems in which components are moved against each other and friction and wear must be kept to a minimum. The coating is also chemically resistant and biocompatible, which offers a very wide range of applications. Depending on the manufacturing process, deposition conditions and composition, the properties of the coatings can be adapted over a wide range. A wide range of materials can be deposited using the PVD process. By adding reactive gases, nitrides, oxides and carbides can also be formed on the surface.<\/p>\n<h3>CVD (chemical vapor deposition):<\/h3>\n<p>Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is a coating process in which process gases are split near or on the surface of the substrate. The layer then grows by chemisorption on the surface.
